Safety Information

Choose a bag light enough to press overhead with a braced core and a neutral spine, because the bag loads both shoulders and the trunk through the whole press. If you have a shoulder, neck, back or balance problem, ask a physical therapist or physician before attempting this exercise, because it holds a load overhead with both arms locked out. Stand on a firm, non-slip floor with clear space overhead and around you, keep the ribs down so the lower back does not arch at the top, and stop if you feel a pinch, sharp pain or loss of balance. Stop if the exercise causes pain or you become unwell. Seek appropriate professional advice about symptoms or suitability.
