Step-by-Step Guide
Set up
- Stand on the base board of a stable pole-and-spring apparatus on a flat floor, with both feet entirely on the board and your heels together and toes turned out, and your back lengthened along the pole. Check the apparatus before you begin.
- Take a handle in each hand with your palms facing down and reach your arms out to your sides at shoulder height, just at the edge of your sight. Then press your arms down toward your sides, circle them forward and up to shoulder height, and return to the first position.

Stand on the base with your back lengthened along the pole, heels together and toes apart. Hold the handles palms down and reach your arms out to your sides at shoulder height.

Step 2 of 4
Press your arms down toward your sides against the springs, keeping your back lengthened along the pole.

Step 3 of 4

Step 4 of 4
Stand on the base with your back lengthened along the pole, heels together and toes apart. Hold the handles palms down and reach your arms out to your sides at shoulder height.
What you should feel
You want to feel your back working and your chest opening.
Breathing
