Safety Information

Sit on the table with the back to the arm springs, legs straight out in front hugging together with the feet pointed, one handle in each hand at chest level with the pinky side of the hand on the handle and the springs on top of the arms, shoulders directly over the hips; press the arms straight at a diagonal slightly higher than the shoulders, reach the straight arms down toward the mat then up to the ceiling using the center to resist the backward pull, open the arms wide to the side, press the straight arms down to the mat and bend the elbows to repeat. The outer hips hug tightly together, the shoulders stay over the hips and on the back, the fingers stay long and together, and the center holds against the springs' backward pull. Warning: the exercise is not ideal for some neck and shoulder issues. Anyone with a shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, back or balance problem should ask a physical therapist or physician before attempting this exercise and stop at pain or dizziness. Stop if the exercise causes pain or you become unwell. Seek appropriate professional advice about symptoms or suitability.
