Safety Information

In the reverse plank the heels press into the mat, the tail curls toward the heels and the seat lifts, knees and elbows softened rather than locked. Soften the knees if they hyperextend and hold the body up from the backside, not the shoulders or elbows. Keep both legs down, rehearsing the lift mentally if the body cannot yet support a leg lift. Anyone with a shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, back or balance problem should ask a physical therapist or physician before attempting this exercise and stop at pain or dizziness. Stop if the exercise causes pain or you become unwell. Seek appropriate professional advice about symptoms or suitability.
