Safety Information

Hold a plate by its ridge at arm level in each hand with a neutral grip, lower them until the fingers are nearly extended, then close the hands to raise them. Keep the plates gripped only by the fingers - never let the fingers fully release. Use light plates the first time and keep the wrists neutral. Anyone with a shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, back or balance problem should ask a physical therapist or physician before attempting this exercise and stop at pain or dizziness. Stop if the exercise causes pain or you become unwell. Seek appropriate professional advice about symptoms or suitability.
